    Founded in 2005, GyroTronix is dedicated in preventing human injury and casualty through reducing risks associated with agents and officers within such organizations as state and federal law enforcement agencies (SWAT and FBI), Homeland Security and Defense (CIA, NSA, and DOD) and Counter-Terrorist units. We provide state-of-the-art robots to aid and assist in areas of surveillance, reconnaissance, and assault.

    GyroTronix is currently developing the SABER (Spherical Autonomous Balancing Electronic Robot) which will be capable of providing audio and video feedback in total darkness, hazardous gas detection, and heat sensing while relaying all diagnostics via a secure wireless channel to a portable laptop or base unit. The SABER will also be able to deploy GPS navigation beacons and tracing devices in addition to having flash bang, CS gas, and other non-lethal stunning capabilities. Multiple modes will allow the SABER to be operated manually or automatically. Our goal with the SABER is to provide enough intelligence and functionality from a single device, so that the brave and honorable individuals who put their life in danger in order to protect and defend us and their country can themselves be protected.

    GyroTronix was created as part of the EEP at North Carolina State University. The EEP (Engineering Entrpreneur's Program) allows students to develop and prototype an idea over the course of a semester, creating a virtual company to manage and implement this idea as though it were a real start-up company. In addition, this program allows undergraduates, as well as graduating seniors, to amass hands-on experience with real-world projects while still receiving class credit.
